Only young love is true love. Anything after has something attached to it: money, status, stability etc. But young love, you don’t even have a job yet and your only status is like being the captain of the team or smth. If a girl likes you, she likes you, not your income, not your career path, not your credit score. Just you. There’s no calculation, no hidden agenda, just feeling. You made her laugh, and she looked at you like you were enough.

Imagine never knowing what it’s like when just holding her hands was enough to make her smile and not another checkbox in adult dating. All the awkward handholding in the school hallways.
Imagine missing out on hiding your relationship from your parents and friends, but your friends find out anyways and they keep teasing you about it.

Good thread, this especially resonated with me. I remember my first kiss: my friends were prepping me, people were videoing, and I was scared shitless. It's an emotion you won't experience ever again, being the guy she chose to share her first intimate act with.

Wish I could be someone's first kiss, but it seems most girls my age has already experienced that.

Yea I understand but what are the chances tbh? This one's pretty compelling tho: Arguably, love that survives adult pressures—work, illness, finances, aging—is more tested, and more real, not less.

It's just that if you missed out on young love, you miss a pretty good event imo.

I disagree. "Young love" means she was dating the best she could get around the town, mix of looks & being NT enough

That's what I worry most abt in a relationship. I'm still young and although most girls my age have experienced being in a relationship before, they just lack the maturity to really hold on to these relationships. Once the initial spark is inevitably gone, they think that it's over.
