    it is very much possible that we do live in a simulation, we are already on our way to be technologically advanced enough to build many simulations and have fake programmed minds live in it or export people's conciousness into the digital realm (although the second possibility is more difficult because we can barely scan a microscopic piece of a brain and map it out because of how much and how complex it is)

    but yeah very likely. in fact, our brains are programs, wired by chemical reactions in response to stimuli from the environment and our genes. also, the real world is just a simulation that our brain makes to view the world.

    there would be no such thing as smell if there were nothing to smell it. molecules with different properties come into contact with the receptors on our nose which go to our brain and we make our own response. cats dont taste sweetness but they can taste atp. everything is a simulation depending on how you view it
