i’m studying at college, and we’re only just starting the part of the curriculum that covers the ussr. at school, we were usually taught world history and russian history (ancient rus, the russian empire)I've also wondered this for a while but couldn't be bothered to find an unbias source: how does Russia's schools treat domestic history like the USSR or past conflicts?
honestly, i don’t remember much of the school curriculum because we had teachers changing all the time. however, i also studied the history of the russian empire on my own because i was really interested in it, especially the romanov dynasty
as for ww2, my history teacher at college constantly talks about how we won, our losses and things like that. sometimes it feels like she’s obsessed with it, or perhaps she’s expected to bring it up so often, since there’s currently a lot of propaganda in russian educational institutions.
