hi friends!
this thread will go over the
pros + cons of minoxidil ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈ )♡

⏔⏔⏔ ꒰ ᧔ෆ᧓ ꒱ ⏔⏔⏔

first things first.. what even is minox?
it’s a topical solution/foam originally made for hair loss on the scalp.
tons of people in the looksmaxxing + beard community use it for facial hair growth, even though it isn’t “officially” approved for that.

⏔⏔⏔ ꒰ ᧔ෆ᧓ ꒱ ⏔⏔⏔

the pros! (๑>◡<๑)
  1. proven results – boosts circulation to hair follicles, helps new hairs sprout where you couldn’t grow before.
  2. long-term gains – after 6–12 months, lots of people see legit permanent beard growth even if they stop.
  3. patchy beard fix – can fill in thin areas & give a fuller look.
  4. widely available – sold at most pharmacies, comes in foam or liquid.
  5. relatively safe – been studied for decades on scalp hair, side effects are usually mild.
⏔⏔⏔ ꒰ ᧔ෆ᧓ ꒱ ⏔⏔⏔

the cons... ૮꒰◞ ˕ ◟ ꒱ა
  1. not FDA-approved for face – it’s an “off-label” use, so it’s kinda experimental.
  2. commitment – needs 2x daily use for best results, and it takes months to see changes.
  3. skin issues – dryness, flaking, itchiness, redness are super common.
  4. shedding phase – sometimes you’ll shed old hairs before new ones grow in, which can be scary if you don’t expect it.
  5. side effects – rarely can cause dizziness, heart palpitations, or unwanted hair (like on cheeks/forehead if it drips)
⏔⏔⏔ ꒰ ᧔ෆ᧓ ꒱ ⏔⏔⏔

tips + tricks (๑•̀ᴗ•́๑)
  1. derma rolling (0.5–1mm once a week) can boost absorption.
  2. always wash face before applying, and let dry fully before bed.
  3. use moisturizer to fight dryness/itch.
  4. be consistent! skipping weeks can slow your gains a lot.
  5. if you notice chest pain/dizziness → stop + see a doctor!

oke! thank you friends
that’s the minox breakdown ♡
have an awesome day

Tools needed:
  • Knife or scalpel
  • Saw of some sort
  • Stiches
  • Topical anesthetic
  • Plates
  • Screws
  • Hammer
  • Vicodin or other painkillers (this does not feel pleasant)
  • Anxiety medication to calm your nerves before you start

Procedure:
  1. Apply topical anesthetic to skin
  2. Saw open the bone along the lines shown in the chart above
  3. Move the maxilla (and other components such as Zygos if performing Lefort 2) forward, backwards, upwards, downwards, or rotationally depending on what you are hoping to achieve with your Lefort
  4. Use plates and screws and hammer to hold the bone together between the skull and where the maxilla has been moved to
  5. Close up the skin with stitches

This is a very simple procedure to complete at home.

PM @JeezyTheSnowman with any questions you have!
