- Oval – Balanced, slightly rounded jaw, forehead a bit wider than chin.
- Round – Equal width & height, softer jawline.
- Square – Strong angular jaw, forehead ≈ jawline width.
- Rectangle/Oblong – Long face, straight sides, jaw not super wide.
- Diamond – Narrow forehead + jaw, cheekbones widest.
- Triangle/Heart – Jaw wider than forehead (triangle) OR forehead wider with pointy chin (heart).
try to see which one apply
the very most, theres some photos attached to this thread of examples if you need a visualization to help you out !

1) oval.
an over face shape is the IDEAL face shape
for most. basically anything can work if you have an oval face shape! Stubble, short boxed beard, full beard, goatee, Van Dyke. just try to avoid anything that makes your chin look too long because that can make the illusion of bad pre portions on your face.. and we dont want that
(ᵕ—ᴗ—)
2) round.
your goal is to add angles and length to your face, Goatee, anchor beard, short boxed beard (with sharp edges), chinstrap are all some good ideas! really anything that keeps the cheeks trimmed down and focus hair on chin could work though.
id recommend to avoid full beards as it could make your face look fatter. ૮꒰◞ ˕ ◟ ྀི꒱ა
3) square.
your goal is to soften your jaw angels a bit and elongate your face. for this id recommend Circle beard, goatee, chin beard, stubble. If you want a full beard keep sides shorter, let chin grow longer to help elongate your face. Avoid super boxy full beards as it can add to the boxy look.
4) Rectangle / Oblong.
your goal should be to Add width, not more length. Beardstache, fuller sides, mutton chops (if you’re brave enough lol (..◜ᴗ◝..) ). Short beard or thick stubble looks great aswel. Avoid long goatees or pointy chins as it gives the illusion of a longer face.
5) Diamond.
your goal is to balance your wide cheekbones and narrow jaw. some good styles are Goatee, chinstrap with mustache, fuller beard with width at jaw. Mustache-heavy styles also balance nicely.
Avoid thin chin-only styles as it makes the jaw look weaker. (๑>◡<๑)
6) Triangle / Heart
your goal is to add bulk to jaw to balance forehead area. Full beard, chinstrap with volume, medium-length stubble are all good options. Mustache + beard combo balances forehead and chin aswel.

tips and tricks (๑>◡<๑)
1) Sharp neckline (trim under jaw, not ON jaw) can give a nice clean look and help to define your jaw !
2) beard oils can help for a fuller, healthier beard and to keep your beard looking fresh
3) if you have a patchy beard keep it stubble length, don’t force a full beard or it will look kinda silly
4) MINOX! im going to go over this really quick, although it isnt ment for your face tons of people use it! ignore tip 3 if you intend to use minox.
Derma roller (0.5mm – 1mm) once a week boosts absorption of minox aswel. please be super careful and do research, i can do a whole thread on minox so comment if you want that !
