Linking studies before anything else:
Taurine improved “social avoidance behaviors” in mice exposed to chronic social stress
Low taurine: abnormal anxiety
Restoring taurine: improvement
Before any retards speak, these rats weren't low on taurine. So it wasn't just "restored to the baseline". It was a genuine improvement.
Antidepressant effect of taurine in stressed rats: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-017-05051-3
They did preventive taurine treatment, taurine was given before and during stress exposure, Rats didn’t develop depression-like symptoms
They did NOT clearly show baseline taurine deficiency first
Taurine acts more like protective / resilience-enhancing.
And also before you say "muh it was tested on rats", rats are also mammals. Literally most of the info we have on testosterone (diet mostly) is done on rats. And guess what? It also applies to humans because we're mammals.
Now, after getting that out of the way and after knowitallcels have left the thread, let's speak about why taurine is important.
Taurine is believed to act on GABA receptors (calming, anti-anxiety), modulate glutamate (reduces overstimulation), support neuroplasticity and BDNF and reduce stress hormones. So even if you aren't low on taurine, just because of it glutamate and activating GABA A receptors, it will inevitably lower your anxiety. I take it myself so I can confirm.
Studies and experiences of multiple people are proof of this.
Now let's get to why it helps with depression:
These studies found that taurine reduced depression-like behaviors in stressed rats, normalized neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine and also reduced stress hormones and improved brain growth factors
This is similar to the threads about magic shrooms, which is in BOTB.
I can confirm it myself, it does work. I feel lower anxiety, I find myself to be in a better mood overall and I have been able to NTmaxx this way. They are a great help.
Also, before you say 10g is a lot, no it isn't. I tried the recommended dose of 3g and it does jackshit. I found this researching myself and upped the dose.
INB4 COPELEMENTS, YOU n*****s DON'T GET EVEN 1G OF TAURINE IN YOUR DIETS.
Rep if it was an interesting read or if it taught you something new.
