never try sitting on two chairs (yeah, fat jokes, i get it) at the same time.

the best and most common example of that, and where most people fail: if you decide to criticize yourself, don't squeeze in some excuses or blame someone else too in the process. either go full "it's that r****d's fault" mode or say you've made a mistake

If you want to look smart, you have to practise “magic” or more simply hide the process of your (hopefully intelligent) conclusion

i disagree, tbh. i mean this is not necessarily technically wrong, but taking the opposite approach - breaking your thought process down to simple steps and signalling there's no inconceivable magic going on in the background - works great in multiple aspects

True, in fact I said smart, not intelligent

Smart was originally used in contexts such as “don't be smart with me”
Unfortunately language changes over time
