A guide to opsec

THREAD MUSIC:

OPSEC stands for operational security what we are actually talking about here
is PERSEC and how to threat model and utilise tools to ensure your security online
not everyone needs to boot off tailsOS and have 8 VPNs hooked up now thats silly.

why am i making this thread? because the other one wasnt very good thats why

Threat modelling is the most important part of persec
because what are you protecting yourself from exactly???

most people online that spout "opsec" usually back themselves into walls
by their own stupidity and paranoia. DONT do this. you need to understand
what you are hiding from and what the necessary precautions are to go with this

if you dont need to hide anything incriminating and want to protect your presence go light

OS short for operating system (its slang guys)
is very important to understand what you are doing before you are going into
your OS is like the face of your system its how everything can be visualized and
utilised. mainly most people can stick to windows but linux is also useful if you code
or others here is some OS' id recommend onto your threat model

LOW THREAT:
windows, ubuntu, mint

MID THREAT:
archlinux, parrot, fedora, kali (if ur pentesting)

HIGH THREAT:
TAILS

the low threat are good for games and daily use

the mid threat are not much different but require a higher level of knowledge and understanding
as they are more sophisticated and hard to use

the high threat is used for the most privacy and security but isnt needed unless you meet some
criteria

A VPN or virtual private network
is what hides your Internet protocol (IP)
from websites or bad actors this subsection is going to be quick

USE THESE 3 AND ONLY THESE THREE

1. MULLVAD
2. WIREGUARD
3. openVPN

these three are the undisputed best VPNs

i recommend mullvad as its the most user friendly

VPN boxes (what i use ontop of my usual VPNs)
these hide and encrypt your network traffic and can encrypt every device connected to it

use firefox
librewolf
mullvad browser
and TOR

TOR is the best for maximum anonymity as it uses onion routing
very good but can get annoying as its slow

this is a more DO as i say and not as i do

ProtonMail is incredibly secure and id use this as a main
(except i dont i use GMAIL)

id also recomend using tempmail for signing up for stuff
like coupons and shiet IRL get infinite deals or whateva

hold XMR (water)

wallets:
hot wallets arent secure but if i had to choose one to use it would be phantom

what i use:
ledger

what you should use:
trezor

(more of a personal choice imo)

i think i got everything lmk if i missed anything

How do I protect my identity across multiple platforms?

Across all of the doxxing on looksmaxx(dot)org, and account breaches found there - I've become paranoid similar behavior might be seen here.
