I just watched the first 3 eps on 2x speed because my friend recommended I watch those before I watch his favorite episode of all-time, which is Bystander.

"But in the end... I was nothing more... than a bystander, after all. I've always been powerless to change anything."

Fuck mang, that was deep asf. :sadcat:

why are you an anime fan now

I like anything that's emotionally-charged. That's why I even watch live-action dramas. That was a great episode, I'm glad my friend recommended it to me.

I don't like it, ngl.
Yeah I only watched the live action, don't think I'll watch the entire series. I prefer character-focused plotlines, you know, like that Bystander episode. Not a fan of action-packed stuff. What do you like?

the anime is good but the ending is very shitty (manga) still enjoyable tho

I like more complex main characters. Eren is just a cowardly crybaby, and the Levi guy is trying to so hard to appear nonchalant, I just can't take it seriously.

Dropped it after 39ep.

For plot, I mostly like morally grey themes.

Before my rewatch I thought the same tbh, after I gave it a second chance I liked the whole thing much more

I didn’t watch all of it but I know about the ending, lol — one of my classmates was a girl and she said it made her cry because it came to an end. They’d been following it for 10 years or something.

I forgot what it’s called but I’m watching that new anime on Netflix where there is ghosts nd also aliens
Let me know when you recall the name. I thought you didn’t fw anime because you’re too gangsta for it.

What does “morally grey themes” entail, exactly? Thought on potato girl? I think obese people would love her.

I’m open to it just not quite a super fan, i’ll tell you later on ur wall.

It's not a simple good vs evil, rather it's more complex and nuanced. A good antihero story is a classic example.

Also, I like topics that are a bit unconventional and underexplored, like in NHK about social isolation and depression etc.

I don't know who potato girl is. I'm not obese :pepehands:

Sounds good— and yeah I wouldn’t call myself a super fan either.

I would like those too, can you recommend some? I watched Welcome to the NHK, which I enjoyed. Very relatable as a former/current hikikomori-ish guy. Potato girl is the girl who eats a potato in the beginning of AoT haha.

What's your favorite animu
Tokyo Ghoul for sure, I was expecting a pure horror anime but was surprised by the complexity of the characters and especially the drama. I’m a sucker for that. Which one is your favorite?

Oh shit, I don't remember her at all, lol.

I don't have that obscure list to recommend, kinda mainstream. But these kinda hit the same vibe, on the top of my head.

Code Geass, Steins;Gate, Oshi no ko, 86, Death Note, ReLife(somewhat), Promised Never Land(only S1)
