Code Geass is the highest rated anime according to MyAnimeList and it is even higher than One Piece which surprised me. And yet it only has like 2 seasons. Should I give it a watch? And I watched ReLife, but the live action which I loved. Same with Death Note. Never watched the anime.

Yeah, If I'd be you, I wouldn't watch it in the near future. Better to watch shows you haven't seen. But I've heard the movie is quite bad compared to the show. Haven't seen the movie, though.

I actually watched the Japanese movie and not the American movie. Personally I really enjoyed the movie but I am strictly talking about the JP version. And you are right, better to watch new shows first.

He’s not really a douche, tbh there’s no “heroes” in that series. Everyone is fucked in the head in some way. He just managed to come out on top
