These big ol disgusting chunks keep popping up. I can't wash them out so I usually am forced to use a pick. Anybody have any ideas? They tend to get stuck inside of the braid somehow.

The best way to deal with it is prevention. It's always better to prevent than having to cure. Use a ketoconazole shampoo twice a week, and let it sit on your scalp for about 10 minutes before rinsing.
