are people who claim they love walking just trolling?

Walking is a calm activity that we're designed to do for long periods of time without it being draining. Walking around, examining the world, and everything of the sort, is interesting or good stimuli if you're used to being inside all of the time. Sometimes it's the routine of it as well if someone walks around often.

You can isolate these traits by themselves and then have those traits be associated elsewhere, but it's the combination of all of those traits that makes it pleasing. The movement plus being alone plus seeing nature or stimuli plus being outside plus the fact it's low energy plus you're being physically active, etc.

Low effort for decent rewards. To a lot of people anyways.

what's special and enjoyable about going from A to B?

i don't think it's a bad or a negative activity, but what's there to ... like? being in nature, being alone, being outside, being physically active - none of these are remotely exclusive to walking
I love running and thats basically the same thing so na

Its completely different because running requires much more effort, imo. Makes it a vastly different activity. Most walkmaxxers cant run 500 m without risking their lives. You also cant do a bunch of stuff you can do while taking a walk (greeting other people, normally using your phone, checking stores etc)

good point

It calms my mind, add some music and it makes it easier to think, being in a car going somewhere has a similar effect on my mind, as long as my body is moving i feel calm, the second i try rotting in my bed without doing anything i start feeling like an impostor in my own skin, probably some weird form of attention disorder or ocd or something like that

yeah, but how is this exclusive to walking? you could plausibly claim you are getting that by doing just about anything
Not being indoors
