As an uninformed teen, what is the problem with eugenics?

I’m not really sure how to start this, I know it’s usually racial based which I do not support, but really what is the problem with only allowing people with superior genetics to breed? To create the healthiest, smartest generation possible is a net positive correct? It would also fix the overpopulation problem, I mean this also happens (mildly) in nature as-well, mothers leave the weak to die and animals choose the best mate, but I also know I’m not the most intelligent or empathetic. So what really is the problem, I mean it’s almost like allowing pugs to breed, you’ll only create more problems for them! If you have superior genetics then your more likely to make better children wouldn’t be the world so much better if your chance of being born in a mentally ill, abusive household is decreased, along with much less (born) disability rates! (Coming from a person who is disabled and deals with mental health issues) also if you read this, what should I put these types of posts as? Like discussions?

I can understand how is it dehumanizing, it’s the opposite of our nature (but good for the people), but what’s the problem with hyper-hypergamy? Looks-wise, if everybody is attractive to human standards, it decreases the amount of people who are being discriminated for being unattractive, though a problem I do notice, is that if attractive is the new average, we will need something else to make the “best” which is a little worrying. Or am i misunderstanding
