People in the looksmaxxing world are always talking about “ascending,” like it’s the big goal of life. But when you think about it, ascending isn’t just about looking better. It’s supposed to mean freedom in relationships, respect from society, not being ignored anymore. Basically, the dream is that once you ascend, you’ll finally be taken seriously, you’ll finally be wanted.
But that idea is way too overhyped
People imagine life will flip upside down after they “ascend", like suddenly everything makes sense and every problem is gone. It doesn’t work like that. Yeah, sure, you might get more attention, maybe people treat you differently at first. But that doesn’t actually solve what’s inside your head. You’re still you, with the same insecurities, the same overthinking, etc. And nah bro, if you're autistic, don't even think your looks will make you accepted. You know that good-looking people are expected to be outgoing, smart and confident, right?
None of this really matters. Respect fades, looks fade, status fades. The validation you get lasts a moment and then it’s gone, and the people who gave it to you move on with their own lives.
So if you spend your life chasing ascension like it’s salvation, you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment. The freedom you’re really looking for doesn’t come from people finally liking you; it comes from realizing that it doesn’t matter if they do or don’t.
Once you actually accept that nothing matters, you stop being trapped by all this. You can still work on yourself, you can still play the game and shit, but it’s not life or death anymore. You don’t need to “ascend” because there’s nothing to ascend to.
