I think most of them end up growing out of that phase, though. I used to dislike k-pop fans because they were dominating on Twitter, it was just off-putting so I never listened to it. But then in 2017 I started listening. Good decision. Though it was j-pop that paved the way for me, which I got into after watching Japanese horror movies. I believe my oneitis already grew out of that phase, since she's already 25 and she must have been into that stuff when she was 16 or so.

Yeah, I didn't know either until I saw her Facebook page a couple of years ago (a non-active one). I got so triggered I had to stop listening to k-pop for a while because otherwise I would just get reminded of my oneitis and get sad. But now I'm finally over it so it's okay. However I think k-pop really is just a phase and that women, after a certain age, just grow out of it. With sports it's kinda different. Girls usually obsess over attractive guys but they have a different taste when they're younger, when they're younger they are more into feminine-looking guys such as k-pop idols but when they get older they find more masculine-looking men attractive. I believe a large part why k-pop is so big is because of the young, attractive male idols. If it was middle-aged male stars producing the exact same music, I highly doubt they'd have their current fanbase (which is young women).
