I have an underbite and my free healthcare surgeon wants to do upper-jaw surgery to move it forward. Should I push for double jaw with CCW to fix jaw and lip asymmetry? Would that even look better? They told me it wasn't asymmetrical and that one side of my chin is just bigger than the other, but that doesn't explain the lip to me. Appreciate any advice

honestly it doesn't look super obvious, so the asymmetry might be smaller than it feels to you. if the surgeon says it isn’t really asymmetrical, they’re probably basing that on scans and bite alignment or some shit. if you’re unsure though maybe get a second opinion from another orthodontist or surgeon and then decide from there. it could make your face look better but symmetry does not = attractive. you could have a slightly asymmetrical face and still be considered good looking. if you don't wanna get surgery then focus on things like posture, sleeping position, and the muscle tension in your jaw. if you constantly sleep on one side of your face that side is gonna look different compared to the other one. also jaw exercises help too because it could be one side is tighter than the other side.
