It’s not so much age gap as timing
17 and 22 is bad because of the differences in physical and especially mental development
But 20 and 25 isn’t bad because timing

people care a lot about children i guess or it could stem from women's dislike of mens attraction to youth and want for a smaller competition pool probably some of both I think the latter only comes in when you think about girls 16-20

1 to 2 age gap is okay everything else is bad
