Believing in God teaches you gratitude and morals. Praying to God daily gives you a sense of well being.

I cannot prove god but religions serve as a purpose for humanity, psychology and society. Believing in god makes sense from psychological point of view.

It's sad that more youngsters are atheists these days. The more irreligious the society, the more depression and suicides.

I'm Christian but some atheists are better than others. Most seem to believe religion is bad but others believe that it's good for humanity.

I studied psychology. I know why religion and god serve as a purpose.

Whenever someone achieves something, they credit to their god.

It was only meant for the reddit ubermensch, never meant to be polluted by the hands of the common masses

I hope you credit your all achievements to Jesus. It will make you more humble in life. Religion will give you a sense of comfort at death bed.

Are you a Christian or agnostic?

but why cling to a sense of comfort if you know/believe it’s false? That’s literally blue pulled asf

Good question. That's why I only partially agree with him.

It's not false. It's true. Science cannot prove everything. 90% of discoveries in this earth are still unproven.

We are not sure how this universe got created? Who led that?

People who believe in god tend to be humble with their achievements.

Well from the post you’re not really arguing that it’s true just arguing that it’s helpful for people. Which if you think about it from an atheist’s point of view isn’t really gonna convert them like for the reason I said before

you should consider all possibilities
athiests who spend their time debating religious people are just wasting their breath
i don't think there's any reason to be mad at someone for following a religion; after all, if they're right, they have nothing to lose
sure you could argue that conforming to a certain set of morals is losing some sort of quality in life itself, but i don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, at least in a modern society
ignoring all my opinions on morality and religion, i believe there is a God
maybe not an omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent God which religion describes, but rather an indifferent one, whose role was solely to give life
but my views change pretty often, i like to keep an open mind towards everything

Atheists lack humility, gratitude and drive in life. All the atheists feel religion is stupid.

not true at all
you don't need to follow a religion to create morals and virtue

So let's get this straight. You need to be threatened with chains and whips to be a good person? You cant find it within yourself (the only thing we can be sure of) to find your way?

You're dependent on something else which may, or may not exist for YOUR worth, reasoning, and purpose. Rather than the only thing we are sure to have

if you can not aprieciate the miracle of life for what it is without being told to, maybe you're the problem

But still religion serves a purpose
it serves a purpose to those who cannot find meaning and regulation independently
this isn't a bad thing, copes are what keeps people alive
but that doesn't automatically mean that EVERYONE must be dependent on religion to have basic human decency

Okay , I read all the texts and here is my point:

When humans first evolved as home sapiens , they had no morals , no virtues , no knowledge of what's right and what's wrong because what's pertaining to right may be wrong from someone else's point of view..They used to walk naked ,hunt animals , have no basic decency or even knowledge to operate themselves properly..Then came the religion, which told them what could be right and what could be wrong , it told them the right morals and virtues , generation by generation, the right morals were passed on like it must be practised, the religion ascertained them in following those morals not by their will but because it was compulsory.. Now-a-days, the same morals sounds so right because our mind is brainwashed in a good way generations by generations that the past practise has become the reality for humans

Understand it this way , if u were born as a child living in a household where your parents do evil things but reflect it as good , u would surely be brainwashed into thinking that what your parents are doing isn't evil but good..Good and evil is decided by the environment and that environment was set by THAT RELIGION long ago..If there was no religion, there would be no morals and virtues.

Another prime example is the 72 hoor theory , I am not talking about the whole community but a specific group , they are taught that u will get 72 hoor in your afterlife if u kill people not believing in your religion or doing something against it , even little children are brainwashed into thinking this way and as a result , when as a adult ,they are asked( why did u do it? ) they consider it a foolish question because what they did was purely Good and kind because they were brainwashed into thinking that way

Yet you follow society standards like a sheep🤡

morality is immanent and aimed to prime mover, it's not human made

yeah, today's morality doesn't exist in human nature, or in anything's nature, which is why i think God isn't the 'all-good, all-knowing, and all-powerful' God as religion describes him as
however i believe one exists, just not with the purpose of dictating good and evil

morality exists in nature and so in humans (otherwise we wouldn't even able to think about morals thought is always aimed to something that exists). you are correct that god isn't all-knowing though and all-powerful

They don't decide my morals
They decided your morals , if u were living in a terror camp in balochistan, u would be seeing genocides, guns , people killing innocent people and other filthy things from the moment u were born and there would be a whole community around you which would be normalising all these stuff and brainwashing you into thinking that what their community is doing is purely right..U would grow as an adult and u would do the same thing and I guarantee it..

Today u have morals because they were given to you by your parents who were civilised and not evil..U don't have morals of your own but the morals passed on by your parents which were passed on to your parents by your grand parents and the cycle continues but the starting point of the cycle which decided that which morals are to be considered right or wrong were framed by religion only

it's low iq copefuel only when you say that faith>reason like Duns Scotus did or Augustine, otherwise it's alright especially tomism
Effect is psychological. God exists but not in form you believe.

Im an atheist myself but dgaf what others believe and can’t be asked to spend my time and energy trying to get people to see things my way.

So many scientists and doctors are religious, are they stupid?
does it mean that they are correct? saying that faith>reason is delusion because when you say it you already use reason, not faith

They don't decide my morals
"I need to be told what morals to have cause I'm a r****d sheep incapable of common sense, intraspective intelligence, and observation."
Common sense, intelligence and observation are individualized, based on one’s experience, in this sense we’d live a world of randomness and chaos and conflicts, what makes sense to you may not make sense to me, there have to be an upper reference or authority to follow, this doesn’t mean a cattle or sheep or whatever

Real, but forcing/putting up an agenda for religion should be punishable by public scalping

To be honest i dont think religion matters that much, example i was Orthodox but then i saw no point in religion and started thinking It Was Just wasting my time and made no Logical sense ,so now i dont believe in anything and i actually have less worries
