Hey everyone,
I’m about to send my photos to a rater (paid), and I want the most accurate IRL rating possible, not inflated and not destroyed by bad lighting.
I have access to a DSLR, so image quality won’t be an issue. My goal is to replicate how people actually see me in real life — not Instagram lighting, not harsh gym lighting, not top-down bathroom lighting.
Before I shoot, I need advice on:
Lighting
What lighting setup best represents how people normally see you?
Overcast daylight?
Indoor natural window light?
Direct sunlight?
Neutral indoor room lighting?
I don’t want:
Halo effect from golden hour
Harsh top-down lighting exaggerating eye bags
Under-lighting that makes me look uncanny
Shadows that artificially sharpen cheekbones
