I was completely addicted to discord as a teenager, the moment i learnt english, there wasn't a single thing that could keep me away from my phone and online friends.
It sounds like i was a complete loser, and i was.
Lets get with my humble begginings:
It all started when i was watching one certain youtuber - NaXxMC - in 2018. He recorded cool geometry dash content, atleast for 11 year old me. I watched this guy for a year, and then in 2019 he started advertising his discord server. At first i thought it's another 'sponsor" thing and ignored it, but as he talked about it more and more, i caved in.
I created my discord account at 12 years old, i was underage yes, but i didn't even know that was a thing untill later. Username was "jay" (inspired from ninjago), somehow i convinced people it was my real name..
At the time, i also completely didn't know english. My first messages in the server were "i big fan" and "XD".. but with time. and hours spent on the discord, i slowly began learning.
In a few months, i went from not knowing shit, to knowing basic english and being able to communitcate well, all with discord alone. In that timeframe i also became one of the highest "level" (loser shit) users, and had around 20000 messages.
This was the only discord server i was active in, and that's a trend, i was never active in multiple servers at once, and prefered to stick to one community.
This continued for months and months, untill eventually i was 12 years old, with over 50000 messages in a discord server, where everyone believed i was 14 - which was my first ever larp!
But unfortunately, the experience with this server got ruined, when i got banned due to a stupid decision i made.
They added a bot - dank memer (important in the future), it was my first experience with the bot. It was just a normal global currency bot, first of its kind. There was a command for begging which gave u money every minute, so i thought, why not automate it??
Turns out automation was against discord ToS, and the owner of the server banned me. I remained banned for months, when i got unbanned i didn't bother joining being active again.
That was the end of my journey with NaXx's party discord server.
After that i kind of gave up on discord, moved onto other platforms (mainly twitter).. but eventually joined some servers from people on twitter and started being active there.
Here's some of my incel loser messages scores at 13 years old, summarized:
- 29planets discord server (some minecraft youtuber guy i knew personally from twitter) - 30000 messages, #1 on leaderboard
- personal discord server with some twitter egirls - 20000 messages, most active
After my twitter adventures, i returned to being mainly a discord nolife, after finding a service called mantle. Mantle.gg was a minecraft service that provided you with client-sided free capes. As a kid, i see free and i'm hooked, obviously.
After this came the influx of larping, where because i was a kid, i thought status meant everything, so i larped my way to having the best status possible on DISCORD SERVERS. I optimized my identity to fastest hall of fame possible.
So i join the discord, turns out the capes are level rewards, luckily i am a master at that
But i didn't expect this would be another server in which i would totally nolife.

name: jay/jayce, female, 15 year old (yes, i larped i was a female for months without anyone suspecting anything)
I learned 1:1 exactly how the service works and assisted users in setting in up, and was also active 15 hours a day in general chat. I can't check the message amount right now, but it was easily in the 50-70 thousands.
Eventually i became moderator, then head moderator, then admin.. it wasn't anything crazy, just incel climbing the ranks..
I did get paid tho, around 20 bucks a month, which is a lot for a 13 year old teenager lol.
But eventually i just simply got bored of the whole minecraft stuff and thought it was cringy, i resigned and slowly left the server.
And after this is when my BIGGEST discord phase began.
It was a simple, very big server, called dank trades.
It all loops back to dank memer, i decided the bot was cool and wanted to play with it, then found out there were entire servers set up around it, for trading, fighting etc.
This was my heaven, the community was amazing.
My larp persona here was:
Name - Jay (fully jayden), from australia, 16 years old turning 17 this year
FYI, im european and i was 14 at the time. For some reason i thought everyone that spoke english was from america or australia so i didn't want to be the odd one out.
Everyone believed this aswell.
I quickly became one of the richest users in the server, not for long but it was fun while it lasted. I also became very trusted and had around 15000 messages before becoming a trial moderator
After that, it quickly went to moderator, then head moderator, like it always goes. I clearly had a talent for understanding hierarchy and how to climb the ranks efficiently. I knew how to become valuable and knew how to keep that value.
I had so much fun and made so many friends. I had custom channels in the server, and closer connections with some people. I was the most well known person in the entire server and everyone loved me
As an antisocial loser, this was everything i could ever ask for.
In the time i was in the server, it rose from 30000 members to 110000 quite quickly. I wasn't "promoted" from head mod for quite a while.
I also had my own personal server, with 2 friends from the server, one of them left tho so it was just me and this asian girl. In that server alone i also had 20000 messages
she had 11000
She was a nice girl, i feel bad for making her thing i'm a handsome 17 year old australian guy when i was a 14 year old slav kid. I never told her the truth.
Anyway, to end the story, i eventually got sub admin, then manager of the server, at that time i was already 15, which was funny because a 15 year old managing a server with 110000 people was something i never expected.
I had over 200000 messages in that server, then one night got perma banned, because my messages of me hating the owner got leaked and he incel crashed out on me.

So that was the end of it. After that heart breaking experience i leaned away from discord and started beocming more social IRL, and even found a girlfriend not long after! We were together for 4 years, but that's a story for another time.
As a conclusion, this isn't just a story about being a loser on discord. It's showing the dark side of a dopamine loop and chasing being accepted even if it took fake identities. Hundreds of thousands of messages will never be healthy, but it was a huge part of my teenage years. Validation was the most important thing for me at the time.
