I really like this.

Hypergamy, I think, is a combination of the desperation of most men to have a partner (and the lack thereof of women, increasing demand on the male end but decreasing supply on the woman's end) and the fact that there are indeed lots of weak, unintelligent men with poor personalities nowadays. Not that there aren't women of the same caliber, but the aforementioned desperation of most men to join up with a woman means that a woman who is weak, unintelligent, with a poor personality is made out to be far greater in value than she actually is.
