That’s what society thinks, society is dumb. Average height is around 5’9-5’10 in usa, a bit higher in europe but only in like 2-5 countries is above 6 ft. Im not gonna argue on how many standard deviations from the mean do you need to be to be considered “short” or “tall” but you cannot call a person with above average height “short”
