Tbh it seems kind of obvious, but for what reason or motive should I buy a book?? Just idk, its not a debate, I just want to see other peoples perspectives

I assume people buy physical books because it helps them actually finish the book or they prefer how it feels. If you stare at text on a screen 24/7, then it's sometimes hard to force yourself to read a book when you want to read another type of text on that device, if that makes sense.

Though you can fix it by having a library of some kind.

They smell great

At least old math books I have!

Ngl this convinced me to buy it to read lol
But you would think that it would be more appropriate (following your logic) to use real books for studies rather than PDFs, right?
I would also start reading philosophy, this was bothering me whether it proves it or not

In general people are more 'better' with physical books, it depends on the person of course, but a lot of people prefer to study with physical books because it's a disconnect from your personal device (it's an entity on it's own) and because of highlighting/doodling purposes. (There's apps that lets you highlight the text but people normally have unique systems in their books that's hard to transfer to an e-book).

E-books might have some 'benefits', as in like you can search up keywords and stuff. PDFs are better if you have a massive amount of text/books to go through or a lot of data to go through in general. So it depends.

A majority of people statistically prefer physical books though. You can look up polls/surveys and it's almost always going to be more than 50% of people prefer physical books or something.

If you notice you struggle to read/finish books, maybe trying a physical book will help. I don't know if you need to 'buy' a book (Which is what my library comment was originally referring to) if you're not used to buying books, but you might get better results with them physically than digitally.
