Despite having low inflation and more affordable housing and well-paying jobs, it happened after a war and women had no access to education nor proper jobs, no access to bank personal accounts etc.

Also she had no access to modern internet nor books tf you mean financial literacy, their own access to money was divorce and inheritance if their father/husband died

may be a wrong opinion but a successful family in the boomer times relied greatly on the kind of man in the household. if the women at the time picked a guy who abandoned them, or the man just didnt manage finances well, its hard for anything to improve for the family since women had little rights in those areas
