Its very bad right now lol, we obv have a 2 party system liberal = conservative and labour = liberal, weird i know

Currently Labour is in power, but it doesnt really matter both parties are so similar, alot more than usa, at least over there they pretend to be different, here not really. Both are pro mass migration, both sell our country to china, both push a humanist agenda, both are weak. I think you will find the usa is very similar, just less open about it. Currently we are facing an energy crisis, iran war aside, this has been happaning for years now, it makes no sense since australia is so rich in gas and coal. However the liberal party under scott morisson sold the mining rights of our own land to foreign (mostly Chinese) companies. Now we are buying back gas and coal at an insane markup, why not build nuclear? Well the liberal party under new leadership companied to do this in the last election, to fix their mistake. However peter dutton was a corrupt unlikable cunt, nuclear was going to take years to build, cost an unbelievable amount and the labour party ran a nuclear scare campaign, claiming to be worried about putting us into more debt, however their actions show otherwise and they are just petty, regardless if liberals did get in, it probably wouldn't of happened anyway so doesnt matter in the end, neither party is strong, neither will address the root cause being china.
We also have a mass immigration problem, regardless of your thoughts on importing millions of asians, this is bad from a logistical standpoint. They want more immigrants to charge more tax to deal with our national debt, maybe if we had any form of thriving industry this wouldnt be such an issue but we dont, insane red tape and tax laws make it one of the worst places in the world to start a business, let alone the government letting iconic australian business colapse in hard times, but still bailing out the banks. Just one example, holden, australians only major car brand, was not profitable due to high cost to manifacture here, instead of the goverment stepping in they let it die, the way the car market went over the last few years, they would be profitable by now, we need a cheaper local altnerative. But no, now every goverment car is a bmw, costing us hundres of millions. In my personal view, aspects of socialism like state owned industry are a good thing, however also cannot restrict the free market its a fine line. But ack to immigration, idk the stats off the top of my head, but they are crazy, like 1+ million indians alone in a country with 28 million ppl thats very noticeable , in theory we are only supposed to be bringing in high skill workers, but through partner visa, family, ect we end up with alot more. This puts so much strain on the housing market, healthcare, roads, support systems ect. There is a huge problem with immigrants hopping on the dole, its very easy to get in essence a "basic income" although its not called that but its aud$750 + rent assistance and more a fortnight. this is costing us billions we just cant afford. Housing is fucked, red tape for new builds is crazy, builders are super corrupt, costs a ton due to how much you have to pay employees and cost to import materials, going back to us having little industry here, so much is imported we could easily produce. Most young people feel they will never be able to afford a home, using myself an an example, i live in a very middle class area, about 40mins from cbd by train, well in the suburbs, you cannot find a home for less than usd$700k around here, its cooked. Job market is also fried, because we just cant sustain the mass amount of people coming it.
Thats just like the 2 major issues most Australians would identify, hope it didnt sound to much like rambling and made some sense but yeah, alot more is wrong with this country, just ask, but i wont yap about everything.
Right now Pauline hanson has been gaining alot of popularity, she is a :"far right" leader of a minor party, alot of people epically young people view her as our donald trump, think she will save us. She is anti mass migration, pretty crazy thing overhere. Anyway she comes with her own set of problems, alot of people will watch a clip of her and think shes the shit. her voting record says otherwise, she clearly has no idea what shes doing, basis everything off emotion. I would not trust her to lead the country, however, polling shows she is on track to overtake liberal and become the opposition, i dont have much hope in her but we will see. Every other minor party and independent is irrelevant, none have any power and are not worth talking about. Most australians dont care enough to enact change, the ones that do go about it the wrong way. We have neo nazis walking about in masks attacking aboriginal people thinking this will lead to change, and on the other end of the spectrum we have pro palestine mob burning down jewish business. I dont see much future for this country, which is very sad as its such a special place, and still has alot of good about it stunning natural landscape, world class public transport, amazing culture, great cities ect.
Hope you found that insightful, not well put together as im just trying to shit it out, but happy to talk about it if your interested, im really only touching the tip of the iceberg, we have so many issues in every area.
