I appreciate his work very much and I think he left the world far too soon. I have never been good with computers, I'm more into life/human science, but I enjoy seeing how operating systems work (currently on Linux for fun) and TempleOS looks cool.

he was extremely gifted despite his mental illness, I wish he was able to live much longer than he did.

Not despite them.. with them. The cost of genius is insanity. Also his gift was insanity, he truly believed that god gave him a purpose a singular goal, his obsession was his gift and his death.

Based take I didn't really think of that. I am a Christian, I do believe God is more directly connected with people like him.

Well god obviously did not tell him that he needed to make an entire operating system coded entirely in his own programming language. However the idea of purpose created his accomplishments.
