He wasn’t super good at the plate but he was clutch and was also one of the best defensive catchers in baseball.

I’m not sure about WAR+ but his career WAR is like 4-5 iirc. My guess would be that he’s cheap. Ownership wants to cut payroll and I’m pretty sure Heim wanted more money.
