Can you actually stop being friends with someone youve known for a decade

I have a friend ive known for 13-14 years ngl we dint talk for a proper 2-3 years and meet once a year yet i would still say shes a friend i dont think we would stop being friends

i had another friend ive known for the same amount of time, i always thought id be friends with her
i mean i genuinely ghosted her (and everyone) for a year straight

yet we were still like bestfriends after it, i dont know how we stopped being friends

i dint think it was possible

yep, now i think about it basically every best friend i had growing up ive now completely cut contact with (mainly cuz they were all foids)

yeah u can drift from ur friends but i wouldnt say thats not being friends unless u guys fully act like strangers when u see each other
