I dont know honestly

because alot of people say they do/ they can tell their future partner just from that

i think one quote of my fav book was

“Few people dare now to say that two beings have fallen in love because they have looked at each other. Yet it is in this way that love begins, and in this way only.“

I mean i guess youll be interested in someone but would you know youd wanna marry them like that? because ive heard people say it

But idk the idea seems odd to me because you dont know the person or anything

To give a more detailed answer because I can't do anything rn, love is a process.

1st stage is attraction.
2nd is emotional attraction
3rd is care (most relationships are and end here)
4th is love

Zizek (who is my favourite philosopher when it comes to these things) believes that love is (to put it simply) an acceptance and fondess of imperfection in something you hold dearly. You can't aprieciate imperfection at first glance, and definitely not all of it.

People say this when they are physically attracted to the person and don't wanna sound shallow

what inhibits progression from 3 -> 4
also what about sexual compatibility or is that a cope
factors are:
preferences (mind decided + environment)
genitalia development
fertility

Because of emotional immaturity, lack of time, differences, etc.

I'll be honest most people aren't capable of love, society today pushes it away from us and instead places lust on a plater.

Sexual compatibility is 100% real. I mean think about it, you're committing to sleep with one person for the rest of your life, you kinda need to enjoy it.

So u think it was better in past generations
To a degree because people were atleast willing to TRY to love. But I need to remind you that history really is a cycle, sexuality has constantly been opressed and revolutionised for dozens of centuries.

I don’t believe in love at first sight, just because love is built around effort, communication, and emotional intelligence. I work with a lot of old people and the ones who have been with their partners for 25+ years always say that communicating your feelings and being willing to put in effort for your partner is what keeps their relationships strong 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nah, doesn’t make sense, u don’t even know the person. It’s prob just something that people who immediately started dating someone cause they like how they look, and then eventually fell in love with them, came up with

Meh maybe if it’s some chad+
I’m usually lowkey cautious around new people, so I can’t say I love someone until I’ve gotten a good sense of their personality
