Not all humans have a soul
Black people didn't had a soul accoeding to Church so slavery was allowed upon them.
Indigenous people from America región spiked a lot of debate in the religious areas about if they had a soul or not. The final resolution was that they had a soul hence why the slaves from Africa were traded to America colonies instead of using the indigenous as slaves
(Idk about the British I'm talking about Spain)
