There were multiple wara and the building process was halted for more then 200 years at times.
But the beauty is also in the process, the feeling of continuity. A whole society is slowly building something to reflect its culture and its beliefs. the person who started it with the very first stone and the person who concluded it with the final one lived centuries apart. Yet they remain a part of the same story. That is what religion does for us, that sense of succession, that feeling of the passing of the ages through different hands but in the same idea. The feeling that we are all part of something bigger than ourselves.

My brother used to live in an apartment with view on the dome of cologne,

He always told me how much he loved the view and experience, especially at night

Cologne is a magical place, I always think about visiting it again. My country, on the other hand, was brutalized by communists, but we luckily kept most of the old beautiful architecture intact.

Sadly immigrants ruined most of it,

To get the best experience you gotta go to older villages. Theres are a few places in germany which are truly beatiful, m parents always took me with them on their travels,

and from what i have seen, the further you are from a city, the better you live
