I was binge watching Jetts videos yesterday and I came across a video that talked about title, basically he explained that today it seems in order to show you're confident you'll belittle other people. I haven't really thought this before but most popular people in my school tend to be disrespectful to people who are easy targets. There was a kid here making fun of a student with down syndrome even. I guess after watching the video though, or the point of me posting this is because why has this happened? Or has it always been like this and now we're more aware of it?

Ye Ye it's not as simple as "it has always been like this", there was definitely a time where people didn't need this to be confident

I feel like it might have something to do with the internet, not to sound like I'm not on it 24/7 though 😭 . Like, alright someones being corny, whatever make fun of them. But why would you make fun of someone with a mental illness just due to the fact they're an easy target and are less likely to defend themselves or at least defend themselves without embarrassing themselves.

Also I feel like this is worth mentioning, I'm not saying its bad to make fun of someone who is mentally ill. Mental illness doesn't excuse rude behavior to a certain extent. But if you were to make fun of someone and you have to point out the fact they are mentally ill and that is your main point, it puts us in a stereotype that because we're mentally unwell, (whether born with it or due to environmental factors) it makes us seem like we're going to make bad acquaintances or much more likely to become them in the future. Like you have to be paranoid around us.

I can sorta understand that
