curly hair issue i had

so as ive asked already, i wanted to know how to maybe get my hair to be curly. now i usually straighten my hair so maybe i need to stop doing so for a while so that my hair could look more defined and curly? and ill try out the things that have been recommended to me so thanks to everyone for the advice!! i washed my hair and let it be( without trying to use conditioner, mousse and a diffuser n wtv so i didnt try yet)
but from how my hair looks, is it possible for me to have more curly hair than just wavy?

idk how to describe my hair irl, its kinda messy if i dont do anything abt it n some parts are jist really wavy

Whats important with curly hair is how it dries. If you had held your hair stretched out with your hand the entire time it was drying, it would become almost straight. So the best way to think about what helps make it more curly is to make sure it dries in a position you want.

There are alot of things that can affect how it dries. How much you move around while its drying, how much product is weighing it down, how you brushed it, how wet it was to begin with, etc.

Ill tell you my routine later, but I need to eat my ice cream before it melts rn.

it's hard to tell your true hair type because you straighten your hair a lot. I would say look at your roots/new growth but from what I can see I think you will 100% be able to achieve curly hair if you put the straightener down. best of luck!!

yeah letting your hair dry naturally is probably the best choice rn, do you use heat protectant when making use of heat?

sometimes!! but good thing my hair doesnt seem frizzy or unhealthy, its quite shiny and soft

Uhuhh!! actually my hairs kinda wavy and curly but i think with proper care i can get them to be more curly
