Hey everyone,
It’s now day 6 after the operation, and thankfully the swelling has been going down bit by bit. My eyes also hurt less than before, which is great, but I’m still dealing with a really annoying problem: extreme dryness, especially in my left eye. For the past couple of days it’s been super dry, red, and irritated.
It turns out the lower eyelid on that side isn’t sitting as high as it ideally should, so a tiny bit of sclera (the white part) shows. It’s not a lot, but it exposes more of the eyelid, and that area is basically raw right now. Even though I’ve been applying ointment—like a lubricating gel or Vaseline-type stuff—it still burns like crazy. It helps a little, but not enough, and I’m honestly worried because I don’t want to end up with chronic dryness or long-term issues.
I saw the surgeon today and explained everything. He told me that yes, the eye is a bit asymmetric right now, but that they really couldn’t tighten the lower lid any more because of my natural eye shape. He showed me that the angulation itself is actually good; it’s just that my lower eyelid isn’t giving as much support as expected at this stage. He also injected a bit more Radiesse into the malar area, so right now my cheekbones are kinda hunter gatherer pheno.
But overall, it should settle. I’m mainly just praying the irritation goes down, because if the dryness would improve, I’d honestly be really happy with the changes so far—they’re actually pretty big. But as long as the pain and burning are still here, I’m kind of suffering through it. I just want to see comfortably again and stop feeling like my left eye is on fire.
I’ll update again as things evolve.
