Honestly not sure where to go or what to do.

My life isn't bad but I just struggle so much mentally. I don't want to increase my anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medicine but I'm probably going to have to.

I feel hopeless and confused. I'm not exactly sure what could be changed in my life to make me feel better. I just feel so severely depressed and unmotivated. I've been missing my dr appointments despite me having a perfect attendance for my entire life. With everything else, I just feel paralyzed even with stuff I've never struggled with before.

An aspect of it is I go up and down usually. Which is normal I suppose. But I feel like a teen again. I don't know the last time I've experienced a debilitating depression like this, and it just won't go away. It feels embarrassing as an adult to not be able to do things "adults needs to push through". It feels embarrassing to say I feel paralyzed as a grown man. It feels embarrassing for me to say I don't know what to do, or to explain why I feel this way.

I don't get joy out of the things I used to get enjoyment out of. Every time I spend time with others it just feels like a temporary distraction that's very fleeting. Every positive emotion just feels muted and my thoughts are just so loud. I struggle to sleep again which hasn't been an issue for me in so long. I feel tired all the time.

I'm hoping it's a physical symptom of something else. Maybe I need to get blood work done and see if maybe it's some nutritional deficiency. I hope so at least. I don't know.

I just want to feel better. I know it gets better because I've been through this before, but the end of the tunnel just looks so dark and far away.

Maybe today is the day I pick up smoking nicotine fr let's get these lungs working

Besides debt and working in healthcare I don't actually know what the cause is. I have a wonderful family and a happy home. I'm going to try and get blood work done and see if anything is noteworthy because the fact I don't know what the cause is makes me think it's a physical symptom maybe.

sometimes its something as simple as the monotony of life, your brain sometimes gets bored so it makes shit up

Probably due to your night shifts i can relate a bit as i can get called at night for dangerous interventions.
Yeah get a blood test and check inflammation markers, micro nutrients deficiencies and hormones levels.

Night shift workers can suffer from low testosterone and melatonin disruption : who can lead to depression.

Imo before hoping on any drugs/medications try to reshape your nutrition, sleep routine and supplementation/exercise

Could be also due to a work burnout

give yourself some rest and I hope you get better soon brother

we never allow ourselves to rest, it does seem like hes describing a burnout
