Normally the deep labiomental fold is caused by a vertically short chin, but given my massive chin-to-philtrum ratio, I don't feel the verticality of my chin is to blame.

How to treat? Rope? Botox and filler? Genio (I think vertical reduction genio would benefit me anyways since my lower third is so fucking long due to my chin).

No one on org thought it was recessed btw.

Nor did plastic surgery discord... they are the ones who claimed it was vertically short.

Still ain't getting a full-frontal from me yet, don't want people to see my baboon face.

Do ur own research ig
All the research says "chin too short" which PMO since my chin is long as fuck. Unless I could get genio to reduce the part of the chin specifically where the fold is? Shortening my lower third would be very beneficial anyways.

Yeah maybe just see if you can find any before and afters that are similar to urs would be a good start

Maybe I will see a botox administrator.

"The deep labiomental fold is most commonly treated by injectable fillers and usually successfully so. While effective, their lack of permanence in the tight tissues most labiomentak folds has led some to have injectable fat grafting done or even the use of subcutaneous implants placed through small skin incisions. All of these volumetric methods have their advantages and disadvantages.

The most assured method of reducing the depth of the labiomental fold is an intraoral release and the placement of an interpositional dermal-fat graft. By adding the fat graft between the labiomental fold skin and the mentalis muscle the fold is assured to be pushed out. In my experience of doing this fold procedure many times the take of the fat graft is very high and no complications have occurred. The following is the lone aesthetic complication that I have ever seen from this procedure."

@over0 is the verticality of the lower third even that big of a deal or is it just the depth of the fold? If I could get the fold reduced/filled in would that be enough? Or do I need shorter chin?

Org doesn't seem to think long chins are necessarily a bad thing.

Long chins are dimorphic just worry about the fold tbh ad it's a pretty major flaw

Is it that big of flaw with beard?
Defo hides it it's still noticeable tho. Depending on whatever flaws you have and surgeries you might be considering it may or may not be worth it

That's pretty bad ngl doubt ur gonna get much input here especially at this time tbh

Yeah this is a too high iq thread

u might just simply have an overbite

overbite is from the side profile
Interesting, usually people have more issues with my maxilla than my mandible. Orgo said zygoless.

Where is overbite? Downward grown, yes, but where is overbite. This is normal overlap of top teeth to bottom teeth.

If anything, the fold seems to be caused by the formation of my chin structurally + soft tissue placement and density.

Thats weird. It doesn't look like bone honestly. I think it's entirely soft tissue causing the labiomental fold to be deep. There's too much soft tissue in your chin and not enough soft tissue in your mentolabial fold,

I have the opposite problem. Bone wise my chin in my x ray looks the same as yours, yet my mentolabial angle is shallow af lol. I guess soft tissue matters more than I thought

I think this is a good problem to have in comparison to the bone/jaw being an issue, would probably need jaw surgery or genio at this point, but with this I can explore botox/filler/fat grafting, which is a much cheaper and less invasive fix than surgery.
