I think its a matter of cumulative icks adding up.

Eg if a guy has no iphone but has a good insta and active sc, thriving friendship group, and he is good looking, then he will be attractive.

but if a guy is an awkward subhuman such as myself who has an android (actually a custom rom with opensource apps), never used Instagram or snapchat, loner, then I would imagine this is extremely off putting to girls as it indicates that I am not NT and can't curry favor with people (from an evolutionary perspective, I am perceived as a bad mate who can't create social bonds and collect resources efficiently).
