Maybe not first sight but very soon

this may be the obvious but let me be emotionally intelligent for a moment.

Media, family, friends, fairy tales, and strangers will say your soulmate will find you or that love will find you. Simply incorrect of course.

Firstly, nothing is destined. You cannot ever be sure the truth of a promise. It is proven through early media and tales that betrayal and honesty are problems that have and will continue affecting the way we view things. Having a negative experience to something the first time is almost a gift in the sense that your hopes will not be brought up for future experiences, setting the bar low is not necessarily a bad thing.

Secondly, the motivational phrase "Don't judge a book by its cover." is a coping mechanism that goes against our natural instincts. From the beginning of the human race we have had instincts to judge EVERYTHING by the way it looks, it's how our ancestors and founders survived to continue our race. Everyone's natural instinct is to judge someone by the way they look, especially a future partner. Therefore this is proof that love is chosen.

Lastly, people will intially approach you by the way you look. Rather it's your attractiveness, style, or how you appeal to their eyes. Finding someone who "coincidentally" shares interests with you is simply a way to prove everyone's looks matter aswell because if an extremely ugly person liked your shirt because they enjoy that band, you would be disgusted. Start being truthful please. You would also never bond with anyone if you didn't approach them for a specific reason, hint-hint, the way they look.

In conclusion, natural instincts will always outweigh the hope you can hold on to about your "destined lover". You will not find your soulmate because it's a construct to mask marrying up in either gender that has been around for ages. No, the spirits and stars did not tell you the attractive man from the office was your soulmate, it was you deciding subconsciously.

that's all.
