I am aware that I am not really a genius or anything, just a bit above average when it comes to intellect(a bit more when it comes to verbal iq) but for some reason I just cannot fathom someone being intellectually superior to me.

Has anyone suceeded in lowering this part of their ego? Because I feel like it sabotages my opportunities to learn from people that are potentially smarter than me.

Usually ppl annoy me cuz they're too slow

I'm above average but not genius or intellectual tier

I easily outperform most people in my class with low effort, I understand concepts much faster ( though the sample size is only the people I hung out with )

Hard subjects and very abstract concepts still stump me often and I get imposter syndrome still ( hence why I try my best to stay away from STEM )

I know I'm a smart guy, which also lets me know that certain people will be better than me at certain things.
Can't let ego drive you, bro.
not really talking about knowledge, of course if someone knows a lot about a certain topic i am going to listen but its more about observations, i rarely am able to feel like someones observation is worth more than mine if we got the same starting point

Most people are going to think their opinions are correct, it's why they have them as an opinion. The best thing you can do is try to understand why someone thinks a certain way, even if you disagree with it. Devaluing their opinion would be to disrespect yourself, because you're robbing yourself the opportunity to turn normal situations into learning more critical thinking strategies.

Not really, I often will think someone is reasonable intelligence and then something truly retarded will come out of their mouth and I never see them the same again.

I feel intellectually superior

them memorising better than u doesnt make them smarter but good memory is a part of being smart
I feel like if life tested outside the context of some memorising exam they would flop but I will nevr know
