He doesnt seem like a narcicist and i dont think that such a thing can even be real but im still perplexed on how a man can be violent towards his romantic partner. It just seems so pointless

i probably won‘t since i prefer talking about concepts. it‘s not like i‘m slandering his name or anything. that said it‘s my decision what threads i make and i‘m not being unfair to him since punching someone is a free choice that he has control over. not that i think he is a bad person because he was violent in the past. physical violence is much better than the manipulative games people play if it is kept under control but it shouldnt be used to hurt someone who gets scared by it. so women and children shouldnt be beaten unless you are in danger with an exception of raising your kids where beatings can probably very useful in the long run. i just dont get what the point of punching a grown romantic partner does other than destroy the relationship. even if provoked you can just choose to leave instead. there is no reason to be with someone who provokes you on purpose unless it is clear that the provocations are being done to help the other one to be less reactive.
