if youre talking about something an evolutionary anthropologists would say, purely based on biology, its probably along the lines of humans arent on either side of the extremes and evolved as “socially monogamous, pair-bonding primates with facultative polygyny”

id argue the polygamy part is more due to culture causing a bias/shift

if youre asking in my opinion i think it shouldnt matter and people have their own choices and preferences
