whenever im more happy i tend to also not bother about what others think of me->making me more happy
on the other side whenever im unhappy/depressed it feels like im being judged by everyone around making me more depressed.
thoughts?

true, this is kinda water. ur mood directly affects inhibition. when ur happier, ur brain stops the eternal 'was that cringe?' 'don't do that' 'you look stupid' tribunal. u act more freely, speak more, and even take more social risks. positive feedback loop.

same for when ur unhappy. u become hyper aware of every glance and ur brain judges u more than anyone else ever will and u enter defensive mode.

(it's worth noting that being happy reduces the spotlight effect too. (overestimation of how much others notice us))

depends what you mean by upset, sometimes I’ll be so upset about something that I’m fully absorbed in it that I won’t care at all or when you’re angry too
