Not true. I broke my index finger in middle school and didn't know until I got an ex-ray. Had to wear a cast around my whole hand for a few weeks. It only hurt bad when I tried to move it in one specific direction and my mother insisted on going to the doctor.

I would go. If it were a pinky you'd be alright just saying fuck it. Thumb is most important, then index, then middle and so on down the line. Don't want to not do anything and ruin your functionality.

I broke my middle finger on the tip before and didn't do anything. It was alright because it was past the third joint. Happened when I was about 14, but now I'm 37 and it's still much bigger than the tip of the middle finger on my other hand. Your's appears to be broken near the second joint. If you don't get it fixed it's likely to cause lifelong functionality problems.

Yup, if he doesn’t go and get a cast it’s likely his finger will be fucked for life, if it’s still functional it can be wonky looking. Happened to a family member

woah this is exactly what is happening to me right now, it just gets stuck at a certain point like it doesn't even hurt I just don't have full range of motion anymore
