Never played as a kid ,
I played online 2 years ago
I had around 1300 in classic and 700 in blitz withi a week because i was playing everyday
I was good in real life obvisoulsy bc most of ppl that i played against were bad but online I was pretty mid or even bad i'd say

Yeah, I never played it as a kid too. I first tried it in HS, I was like 17?, I've occasionally played it since. I play like 1-3 games a week now, some blitz games.

I was like 1750(rapid) and 1450(blitz) on chess.com , Most of the time now I just leave matches bcs I get bored, lol

I love chess and I’m ok at it, I’ve known how to play for like 6 years now, but I wouldn’t necessarily say it raises your IQ, eventually it’s a losing game where you’re just playing and not improving and losing your mind

It’s definitely just apart of the process when you’re first learning it. Cause obviously the first step is to learn how the pieces move but you still won’t know any strategy so you’ll make a lot of bad plays
