Hypothesis Escapism is a symptom, not the cause of loneliness, and "hard work" is a myth mostly (and why the average normie is wrong about it)

One of the most common lies told to inkwells, is that they are in their position because of their escapism, or they don't "work hard enough" (Usually this applies to videogames, online forums like this one, etc)

To begin, I obviously can't reliably psychoanalyze the average man's mind, but I'll lay out the general reasons why disengenious people say

"You're a loser because you do (insert bullshit here)!"

First and foremost, people wanna feel good about themselves. A common misunderstanding about these conversations is that the normie just wants to put down people with bad life experiences by blaming them for their mistakes. This is obviously true, but it works in reverse as well.

Subconsciously, the normie blames your habits (and escapist hobbies) for your bad life, because HE wants to feel as if he earned the good things he has.

This is obvious to anyone with surface level knowledge, but nonetheless it must be emphasized. The normie's strawman of your life experiences sometimes isn't a malicious attempt, but to make it seem like their own success was earned fair and square.

(I decided to use a clip from marlon, since he is pretty popular now)

His words are clearly setting men up to fail, as the ROI (return on investment) just isn't high enough for some men (aka sub 5 males) to be working this hard. But as you can see, he isn't saying this out of any malice, no, he genuinely believes this is good advice. This is partly due to the fact that succesful people misattribute their success to irrelevant factors (AKA, anything other than genetics or enviornment.)

Marlon was very obviously a mogger in his prime,

(Horrible pic, but it will do) and as a result had a much easier transition into stardom. However, he misattributes (purposely or not) a lot of his success to things that had no effect.

There's a lot of shit that could have put his career in a ditch as well, here's a list

1) Being born in a third world country (game over)

2) Dying during your youth (game over)

3) Fetal Alchohol Syndrome (this is a disability you get when your mother drinks in the womb, which descends heavily)

These are just a few, but I'm sure you get the idea. Here's another of a person who was often held highly as a "grinder" but in reality, their success was due to their enviornment and genes.

Kobe24-1-_%282%29.webp

Probably the greatest example of this, in my opinion. To anyone with even miniscule basketball knowledge, this is Kobe Bryant, the person "Mamba Mentality" was named after.

In reality, kobe was born 6 foot 5, (0.3 % chance)

Born in a first world country as a black person (2.5% chance)

(Even more brutal JFL)

He also could have just been born 300 years ago, where he would have been a zero status slave in america, rather than a pop icon. (It's not just about what you are, but when you happen to be born)

And extreme phyisical capability (which cannot be calculated as a percentage chance, but I would argue is quite rare)

The average body simply can't sustain longevity of kobe's level, this is hard to avoid. Once again, this should be common sense to most, but it is often ignored in "motivational" circlejerks like the ones in sports.

You can extend this to things involving iq, singing, painting, etc. A lot of these things are HEAVILY affected by genetics, and can only be improved to an extent.

So when a normie is fed this bullshit, he will praise himself (and other people) when they succeed, and blame others when they fail, since they genuinely believe it is an equal playing field.

This is very important to recognize, since people in these circles often misinterpret thse attacks as malicious, when it is just a average joe repeating what has been said to him. Getting mad at normies for doing stuff like this is the equivalent of getting mad at a computer for executing the code it was ordered to do.

At the same time, if your life isn't going well, and you have already tried your hardest, don't listen to disengenious people who try to tell you:

"Oh brothaaar, you gotta keep imPROOving"
