If Im 17 is it too late for a expander to grow my maxilla? and if its not late what kinds should I get

Nah you can still get MARPE or SARPE, but it is too late for RPE. So either miniscrew assisted or surgically assisted.

You might be able to widen maxilla with MARPE, depends on the midpalatal suture

Your ortho will say that. I've had MARPE and the expansion itself (turning the key to make the device expand the maxilla) lasted 2 weeks, but I have had to wear it for like 7 months and the 'block' in the middle is still there, to keep the width while my braces work or some shit idk. Just know that it can be 6 months +
