dear Looksmaxxers....
Here is some basic information about the eye area, which every looksmaxxer should know.
Ratios
There are a few ratios which define a good eye area:
- The eye spacing ratio, you should be able to fit only 1 eye inside the space between the eyes
- The eye width to height ratio, obtained by dividing the width of the eye with the height, it is usually prefered a bigger ratio like 1:4 is tipical for masculine eyes
- The eye separation ratio, To get the ES ratio, you will need to divide your IPD (interpupillary distance) with your bizygomatic width, which is the widest part of the face. The ideal range for the ES ratio is 0.45-0.47.
Measures
There are a few measures to count
- Canthal tilt, the canthal tilt is obtained by getting a line which passes trough the two extreme vertices of the eye, there are 3 types of canthal tilts:
- Positive (ideal): the angle is smaller than 180 degrees
- Neutral; the angle is equal to 180 degrees
- Negative: the angle is higher than 180 degrees
- Fissure length: it is usually prefered to have a longer fissure length, short ones define a femmimine face, long ones are masculine, here are some examples
Features
- Eye color: usually there is an attraction of rarer eye colors, for example: blue, green, hazel, amber, is there any way to change eye color? No, eye color is genetic, therefore there could be some mutations while aging (darkening, lightening), still you can slightly get lighter eyes by keeping a healty lifestyle, eating plenty of fruit and vegetables and avoiding UV strong lights.
- Eye shape: there are different eye shapes, the best ones are almond and hunter eyes
Prey eyes are intended to be the worst, almond and hunter are the prefered ones
- Upper eyelid exposure: important feature which separates a good looking eye area from a good one, as the name suggests it consists on the exposure of the upper eyelid of the eye, the least exposure there is, the better it is.
- Under eye support: this is a common cause of problems like under eye wrinkes and many other things, it consists on the quality of the sub-orbital muscles, the more loose they are the worse it is. A good under eye support is also required for a musculine and sharp look
Medial canthus and angularity :
Men have a neutral lateral canthus with a long, defined and down-swung medial canthus which gives them PCT. The lower eyelids on a man should be angular and straight in shape, while the lower eyelid on a woman is curved and round.
A down-swung medial canthus is one of the most dimorphic features(in terms of eye area) on a man.
Here are some good examples of what I mean by a "long, defined, and down-swung medial canthus":

Eyebrows
- Thickness, usually thick eyebrows are best.
- Hooding, eyebrows' hooding can vary person to person, the best kind is deeply set ones since they are main feature of hunter eyes, alongside with the long eye width.
- Eyebrows shape, there are many kinds of eyebrows shape, the best one is a straight positively tilted one
