How to Maximize YOU. :popcat:

Most female looksmaxxing advice is often incomplete/unhelpful because it assumes every woman should optimize in the same direction.

You do not need to become the same type of beautiful as everyone else. Research on person perception supports the broader idea that clothing, hairstyle, makeup, and accessories all shape first impressions, not just isolated facial features. (Sage) Looksmaxxing works best when you choose an archetype that harmonizes with your natural features, lifestyle, and natural presence.

Also, this is style guidance, not hard science. Beauty is partly subjective. Beauty experts have also noted that trend-based systems can be imperfect, especially for people of color or for faces that don’t fit neat categories. (Allure)

(edit: I included mostly pictures of white people which I'm seeing now but honestly the pics are like an aesthetics kind of guide not really like a base)

What is an archetype?

An archetype is your beauty lane/ Type.

It answers questions like:
- What kind of femininity reads most naturally on me?
- What should my styling emphasize?
- What should I stop forcing because it fights my features?

Your archetype is not your identity. It is simply the visual direction that makes you look most intentional.

I have definitely struggled with finding what kind of style suits me - mostly when it comes to makeup, so I have found it helpful getting outside opinions as well. From what I have heard most people see my face as 'cute' so that helps me a lot when deciding my archetype (Soft/ Youthful)

A good archetype should align:
- your facial contrast
- your feature shape (soft vs sharp)
- your best clothing silhouette
- your energy/presence
- your life (School, Job, hobbies, etc, etc.)

Clothing silhouette matters because what you wear creates an overall outline, and that outline changes how your body and presence are perceived. Likewise, hairstylists routinely adapt cuts and bangs to face shape and features rather than giving everyone the same style. (MasterClass)

How to choose an archetype: assess your base

A. Contrast level

A useful starting point is your natural contrast: how much difference there is between your skin, hair, eyes, brows, and lips. Research has shown facial contrast affects perceived femininity. Higher-contrast faces often carry stronger makeup or stronger framing more easily, while lower-contrast faces can look best with softer transitions. Still, this should be used as a guide, not a law. (public.gettysburg.edu)

Quick contrast cheat sheet

。・゚゚・Low contrast: features blend softly together。・゚゚・
。・゚゚・Medium contrast: balanced but noticeable difference。・゚゚・
。・゚゚・High contrast: strong separation between skin/hair/eyes/lips/brows。・゚゚・

B. Feature shape

Ask:
- Are your features soft/rounded or sharp/angular?
- Do you have large eyes, cherub cheeks, softer lips, or a delicate nose?
- Or do you have sculpted cheekbones, a defined jaw, deep-set eyes, or striking bone structure?

C. Best silhouette

Do you look best when clothes:
- skim the body?
- create waist emphasis?
- stay long and clean?
- add structure at the shoulders?
- stay soft and flowing?

D. Presence

What do people already think about you?
- sweet
- polished
- sensual
- elegant
- intimidating
- artistic
- youthful

The best archetype usually refines your natural impression instead of fighting it.

How to figure out which archetype is actually yours

Step 1: Remove fantasy-self bias

The main reason people fail at style is that they style for who they wish they looked like instead of who they are.
Ask:
- When I wear no-makeup makeup, do I glow or disappear (do you look flat) ?
- When I wear soft waves, do I look prettier or too “unfinished” (Messy) ?
- When I wear sleek tailoring, do I look expensive or too severe (Like trying too hard)?
- When I wear strong glam, do I look magnetic or dragged down (Does it look heavy/ unnatural)?

Step 2: Study what already works

Look at your best photos.
Not the most edited.

Notice patterns:
- hair volume
- lip intensity
- neckline
- brow strength
- silhouette
- jewelry scale

Step 3: Match contrast first

This is one of the fastest improvements.
- Low contrast often suits softer transitions, blended makeup, gentler color harmony
- Medium contrast can usually go either polished-soft or moderate glam
- High contrast often benefits from stronger framing, whether through brows, lips, liner, or clothing contrast
That doesn’t mean low-contrast women can’t wear red lipstick or high-contrast women can’t wear bare skin. It just means your baseline harmony may differ. Beauty editors and artists have stressed that contrast theory can help but shouldn’t become a cage. (Allure)

Step 4: Match line and silhouette

Face and body styling should agree.

If your face is delicate but your outfits are extremely harsh, you can look disconnected.
If your bone structure is strong but all your styling is ultra-soft, you can look underpowered.

Because silhouette is the visual shape clothing creates, your outfit line matters as much as individual garments. (MasterClass)

Step 5: Choose your primary and secondary archetype

Most women are not just one thing.

Examples:
- Soft Romantic + Clean Minimal
- Elegant Classic + Bombshell
- Fresh/Cute + Soft Romantic
- Editorial + Clean Minimal

Archetype mixing rules

Soft Romantic + Clean Minimal

Best for women who want to look feminine but expensive, not sugary.

Use:
- clean hair
- soft blush
- fitted knits
- simple gold jewelry
- neutral palette with glow

Elegant Classic + Bombshell

Best for women with stronger features who want sex appeal without tackiness.

Use:
- polished blowout
- tailored dress
- structured heels
- defined lashes
- richer lip colors

Editorial + Clean Minimal

Best for women with angular features who don’t want overt glam.

Use:
- sleek hair
- monochrome outfits
- long clean silhouettes
- statement earrings
- sculpted but minimal makeup

Fresh/Cute + Soft Romantic

Best for women with youthful features who still want femininity.

Use:
- glossy lips
- rosy blush
- soft layers
- cardigan or fitted dress
- pastel or light neutral accents

Hair, makeup, and clothes should not fight each other

One of the easiest ways to look “off” is mismatch.

Common mismatch examples

Example 1:

Soft face + aggressive contour + slick severe bun + sharp black tailoring
Result: face gets overpowered.

Example 2:

Sharp cheekbones + tiny delicate styling + very light makeup + shapeless clothes
Result: your strongest features don’t get supported.

Example 3:

High contrast face + low-impact hair/makeup + washed-out clothing
Result: you look duller than you actually are.

Example 4:

Youthful cute face + mature bombshell styling every day
Result: styling can read costume-ish rather than natural.

Professional hairstyling guidance is usually feature-led for exactly this reason: bangs, layers, and framing are adapted to face shape and proportions, not chosen in isolation. (Vogue)

The biggest mistake: overmaxxing the wrong things

A lot of women get trapped in endless micro-fixes when the real problem is misdirection.

You may not need:
- more filler
- heavier contour
- harsher brows
- trendier clothes
- dramatic hair color

You may simply need a better archetype match.

Final rule

The highest level of female looksmaxxing is not becoming a clone of whatever is trending. It is identifying your visual strengths, choosing the archetype that supports them, repeating that harmony until it becomes your signature. That is how you stop looking intentionally attractive no matter what features you were natural blessed with.

What is an archetype?

An archetype is your beauty lane.

It answers:
- What kind of femininity reads most naturally on me?

Your archetype is not your identity. It is simply the visual direction that makes you look most intentional.

A good archetype should align:
- your facial contrast
- your feature shape (soft vs sharp)
- your best clothing silhouette
- your energy/presence
- your life (school, office, nightlife, content creation, etc.)

- sweet

The best archetype usually refines your natural impression instead of fighting it.

Step 5: Choose your primary and secondary archetype

Most women are not just one thing.

Examples:
- Soft Romantic + Clean Minimal
- Elegant Classic + Bombshell
- Fresh/Cute + Soft Romantic
- Editorial + Clean Minimal

Archetype mixing rules

Soft Romantic + Clean Minimal

Best for women who want to look feminine but expensive, not sugary.

Use:
- clean hair
- soft blush
- fitted knits
- simple gold jewelry
- neutral palette with glow

Elegant Classic + Bombshell

Best for women with stronger features who want sex appeal without tackiness.

Use:
- polished blowout
- tailored dress
- structured heels
- defined lashes
- richer lip colors

Editorial + Clean Minimal

Best for women with angular features who don’t want overt glam.

Use:
- sleek hair
- monochrome outfits
- long clean silhouettes
- statement earrings
- sculpted but minimal makeup

Fresh/Cute + Soft Romantic

Best for women with youthful features who still want femininity.

Use:
- glossy lips
- rosy blush
- soft layers
- cardigan or fitted dress
- pastel or light neutral accents

Hair, makeup, and clothes should not fight each other

One of the easiest ways to look “off” is mismatch.

Common mismatch examples

Example 1:

Soft face + aggressive contour + slick severe bun + sharp black tailoring
Result: face gets overpowered.

Example 2:

Sharp cheekbones + tiny delicate styling + very light makeup + shapeless clothes
Result: your strongest features don’t get supported.

Example 3:

High contrast face + low-impact hair/makeup + washed-out clothing
Result: you look duller than you actually are.

Example 4:

Youthful cute face + mature bombshell styling every day
Result: styling can read costume-ish rather than natural.

Professional hairstyling guidance is usually feature-led for exactly this reason: bangs, layers, and framing are adapted to face shape and proportions, not chosen in isolation. (Vogue)

The biggest mistake: overmaxxing the wrong things

A lot of women get trapped in endless micro-fixes when the real problem is misdirection.

You may not need:
- more filler
- heavier contour
- harsher brows
- trendier clothes
- dramatic hair color

You may simply need a better archetype match.

Final rule

The highest level of female looksmaxxing is not becoming a clone of whatever is trending. It is identifying your visual strengths, choosing the archetype that supports them, repeating that harmony until it becomes your signature. That is how you stop looking intentionally attractive no matter what features you were natural blessed with.

(Allure)

  • Low contrast: features blend softly together
  • Medium contrast: balanced but noticeable difference
  • High contrast: strong separation between skin/hair/eyes/lips/brows

Ask:
- When I wear no-makeup makeup, do I glow or disappear?
- When I wear soft waves, do I look prettier or too “unfinished”?
- When I wear sleek tailoring, do I look expensive or too severe?
- When I wear strong glam, do I look magnetic or dragged down?

(Allure)

I m either 5 or 6 depending on if I have straight or curly hair

(Allure)
