as a female, i'd say yes. let's think from an evolutionary standpoint.
after about 6'4", the advantages of being tall(longer reach usually, faster sprinting) become detriments. at those heights you become lanky and your heart has to pump blood quite far. the mechanical stress on joints and increased injury risk(taller people are at greater risk of fractures) outweighs the benefits. extreme height also means more body mass to cool and fuel, which is a liability in hot environments. not so much in cold climates, but the other problems still apply there.
