I had my first appointment with the surgeon I was referred to by the ENT I went to, after going through all the sleep apnea stuff.
It was way cooler than I expected, I thought the surgeon would be really functionally focused and disregard aesthetics because the reason I was supposed to be getting it was supposed to be for function and would be paid for by insurance. But after all the xrays, photos and the introduction and talking for a little while he hands me a mirror making me look at my cooked ass face

and asks me what I think is wrong with my face, which kind of took me aback a little bit. My dumbass thought he was testing me or some stupid shit and I just say idk. Then he told me told me that its ok to think that things are wrong with my face and that aesthetics are a part of the function of your face which I thought was pretty cool. He then went on to show me tons of photos of peoples before and afters and told me that they would do what I asked and thought would make me look better. He even mentioned a genioplasty unprompted when talking about the things that they could do to make me look better which I thought was pretty awesome. He kept bringing up that because im a big guy I can handle a big chin and jaw which didnt make to much sense to me but idk. He told me to figure out what I want by my next appointment in a month or so where we were gonna the braces and stuff figured out.
It was much better than expected and he said that the surgery would most likely happen in a year next winter, really excited.
